📘 Our self-guided StoryWalk at Keith’s Pond celebrating Read Across America is the perfect way to unplug and enjoy a screen-free adventure. Follow the pages along the trail, soak in the peaceful surroundings, and make some unplugged memories with family and friends.

🌲 Take a nature walk – Explore one of our parks or hiking trails and enjoy the sights and sounds of the outdoors.

🎲 Have a game night – Dust off those board games or a deck of cards for some classic, screen-free fun.

🖌 Get creative – Try painting, drawing, or crafting something new. Bonus points if it's a homemade gift for someone!

It may be chilly now, but warm, sunny days at Freedom Lake are just around the corner! Season passes for LaGrange residents go on sale Tuesday, March 25, at 9am at www.lagrangeparksandrec.com. A limited number of passes will be available for eligible non-residents* starting Tuesday, April 8, at 9am.

To purchase a season pass, you must:
1. Have an account at www.lagrangeparksandrec.com that includes eligible members of your household (up to 2 parents and their unmarried kids under 24 years of age living year round, permanently, in the residence). If multiple generations reside in the same residence, permanently, year round, each must create their own account and provide their own proof of residency. Partial residency is not eligible.

2. Provide proof of residency for 2025 with a property tax or utility bill (residents and eligible non-residents*). Residency verification is required annually.

3. A photo is required for all new members at time of purchase. Updated photos are required each year for children under 18.

If you missed last year's event, here's your chance to register for the KID’S NATURE WORKSHOP: Build Your Own Bluebird Box happening this Saturday!

Under the professional instruction and guidance of the LaGrange Conservation Advisory Council, each participant will build a functional bluebird box. All materials and instructions provided, including a 7' green garden stake to attach the box to. When completed, the box can be brought home and placed outside for bluebirds to nest in. It is such a joy to watch these beautiful birds!

Limited to just 8 participants, ages 8 and over, an adult helper is required to attend (and assist only when needed, we encourage independence when possible). ***Please bring a hammer.***
�$10 per child.

This Saturday, March 8th, 11am-1pm. We will be outside under the Main Pavilion in Freedom Park, 212 Skidmore Road, Pleasant Valley NY. Please note water will not yet be turned on in the park so there is no restroom.

Taking place on I Love My Park Day, Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 1–4 pm at Freedom Park (212 Skidmore Rd), this family-friendly event is the perfect opportunity to inspire curiosity and connect with the community.

Our mission is simple yet impactful: to bring families outdoors and foster connections with nature through hands-on experiences and meaningful interactions. To do that, we need passionate organizations and people like you to help us create a memorable day for all.

*Local Wildlife: Share information about local species or habitats.

If interactive activities aren’t an option, information exhibits are equally valuable. Every contribution helps us build a richer experience for attendees! Participation is free..

Registration opens to LaGrange residents on Tuesday, 3/4, 9am at www,lagrangeparksandrec.com.

LaGrange Day Camp fills VERY quickly! We suggest you register ONLINE and NOT wait in line in person in the Recreation Office on registration day. Office staff use the same system everyone else uses and will get closed out the same. Camp sessions sell out within minutes of opening. It is in your best interest to upload and fill out all the requirements in advance before TODAY at 4pm. There will be no account, member, or residency approvals the week of camp registration. NOTE: uploading documents in advance does NOT guarantee enrollment in camp.

Prior to 4:00pm TODAY, you should take the following actions:
1. Access, update, or create your account on www.lagrangeparksandrec.com.

2. Upload your 2025 proof of residency in the form of a property tax or utility bill to each child you are looking to register for camp.

3. Upload each of your child(ren)’s current immunization records from a doctor (within last 12 months). Immunizations will stay “pending” until registration is completed and records are reviewed.

4. Complete the online health form for each child,

5. Review your child’s birthday and grade. If blank, or incorrect, contact the Recreation Office to update at 845-452-1972 or recreation@lagrangeny.gov.

6. Know the address that is attached to your credit card. If it is not the same as on your account, you will need to manually change the address on the credit card screen at check out or it will be declined. There is a 3.1% credit card fee charged by the processor for all transactions.

7. Counselors In Training must complete the CIT APPLICATION. Interested applicants will register to a waitlist for application review and contacted for payment once accepted into program.
