MAPS AND LOCATION

STRINGHAM PARK

Located in the heart of LaGrange is a well-known, stand out park, called Stringham Park. This beautiful 70 acre-park is a local attraction for LaGrange families, sports enthusiasts, walkers and runners.

Complete with two basketball courts, baseball/ softball field, soccer and lacrosse fields, pavilion, picnic tables, gazebo, pond, walking trails, playground and bathrooms there is something for everyone!

As you enter the park you will also find a 9/11 Memorial Garden which has been built and maintained by the LaGrange Rotary.

Stringham park is the notable home to LaGrange Soccer Club and soccer tournaments such as Goals for Hope. Eastern New York Soccer Association has also hosted their State Open Cup finals at Stringham Park for the past decade. According to Goal Nation, a soccer publication, “Stringham Park is one of the best maintained soccer complexes in New York State”.

Stringham park has also been home to Arlington LaGrange Lacrosse club, in the south of the complex.  The Lacrosse Challenger Cup Tournament is held here annually and like the other tournaments, attracts many out of towners to the LaGrange area and local businesses.

In addition to the expansive, and well-maintained sports fields, Stringham Park offers a picturesque walking path around a tranquil pond called Keith’s Pond. Along-side of Keith’s Pond you will find a beautiful wooden gazebo and park benches where you can relax while watching birds and ducks that take up residence year round. This paved walking path is easily accessible and level, making it an ideal spot for wheel chair and stroller access. Along with a no dog policy this path provides a central and safe walking environment for all. Fishing is also allowed on this peaceful pond.

In addition, to the path around Keith’s pond, you will find a walking trail to the left of the entrance, that surrounds the fields to the left side of the park. This path will eventually be expanded, to surround the entire park, giving walkers and runners a sizeable and picturesque distance to cover while enjoying the view of the entire complex. In the center of the park, you will find the main pavilion which houses picnic tables, bathrooms and the concession stand used in tournaments.  Adjacent to this pavilion you will find the two basketball courts and right in between is the, not to be missed, playground.

The Stringham Park playground is one of LaGrange’s hot spots for children, and toddlers of all-levels and abilities. This playground is one of biggest sources of pride for the LaGrange Community having recently undergone an upgrade and expansion. Playground enhancements were made in the Spring of 2018 and was made possible by the receipt of a Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $100,000 and an additional $67,000 from the parks capital project fund in the Town of LaGrange.  The enhancements and additions include several new pieces of equipment: glider, ten spin, swing bays, inclusive swing seat, bumblebee rider, climber, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, musical instruments, and sensory panels, as well as poured in place rubber surfacing.  This playground is sure to be a source of enjoyment for years to come with more enhancements to be expected in the future.

Stringham Park is open to all, from dawn to dusk and is a dog free zone.  With its central location, as well as all of its features, you will be sure to enjoy this beautiful staple of LaGrange!
